Manorama Prakashan is considered as a leading marathi publishing house based in Mumbai founded by Anil Raghunath Phadke. It is a renowned publishing house founded in the year 1977, publishing variety of books such as novels, children’s books, religious, spiritual and many more. We also publish books of Acharya Atre, Swatantryaveer Savarkar.

Manorama’s first novel ‘Sanman’ was written by Kusum Abhayankar. She was Ratnagiri district’s MLA and also a famous writer. The first edition of this book of 2100 copies got sold out within a span of fourteen days. Later another book ‘Bombay CID’ written by Jayant Ranade and ‘Vidroha’ written by Vyankatesh Mahajan were also published.

In those days mystery books were famous which were printed on newspaper print. But after some years many publishers stopped publishing mystery books. So mysterious writers like Gurunath Naik, Baburao Arnalkar and many more collapsed. Therefore Phadke took a bold decision of printing the same mystery books on white paper print instead of newspaper print.

Anil Phadke himself did the analysis of market conditions and behaviour and had answers to the following questions;

• What is the demand in the market?
• What do people like to read?
• Which authors are picked up by common people?

Thorough marketing was done by him with great interest and with this only the publication business was taken to the peak of success.

Novelist like Pradeep Dalvi, mystery writers like Baburao Arnalkar, Narayan Dharap, police story writer like Shrikant Sinkar were associated with Manorama Prakashan since many years. Manorama Prakashan published thousands of books on areas like Medicine- Dr Suresh Nagarsekar, Fortune-Kisanlal Sharma, Education- V. R. Kale, Dr. Anuradha Gadre, Legal- Adv. Shrinivas Ghaisas and Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh, Children’s Story books- Ramakant Deshpande, Shantaram Karnik, Gajanan Johari etc.
